Beautiful reproduction of the sixteenth century of the armillary spheres manufactured by Tycho de Brahe.

Tycho Brahe (1546-1601) was a Danish astronomer, astrologer and alchemist recognized for his accurate observations of celestial bodies, which changed beliefs about how the universe was organized.

Although Brahe's observations showed that the system of that time had failures, he was not in favor of Nicolas Copernicus and his heliocentric model. His model proposed that the moon and the sun rotated in orbits around the Earth, while the other five known planets revolved around the sun.

His observations included a study of the solar system and the position of more than 700 stars, being five times more accurate than others of the time. In fact, he was described as "the first competent mind in modern astronomy who ardently feels passion for accurate empirical facts".

This sphere is the perfect decorative complement for a library or an office and the ideal gift for lovers of astronomy.
