The telescopic view was a popular optical divertimento in nineteenth-century Europe. It was originated in England in the nineteenth century in the Victorian era.
It consists in the partition of one scene in various planes which are located along a bellows, one after the other. Looking through the hole in its cover and with extended bellows, we see the scene with all its depth.
Were multiple reasons that were used: landscapes, battles, urban scenes etc.
Ours is a perfect reproduction of the original dated 1851 and representing the inauguration of the Universal Exhibition held in London the same year in the halls of the Crystal Palace, precisely by Queen Victoria of England.
It is presented also in a beautiful reproduction of the original case.
